1. Kinds of State Power

Power is the ability of a person to influence others to take the desired or ordered actions. The state power can be divided into three kinds, among others:

2. The Concept of Power Sharing in Indonesia

The division of power is carried out so that there is control and balance between the institutions that hold power. The mechanism for sharing power in Indonesia is fully regulated in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. The implementation of the division of power in Indonesia consists of two parts, namely:

a.  Horizontal Power Sharing

Horizontal division of power is the division of power according to the function of certain institutions. In Indonesia, there are six divisions of power, including:

  • Constitutive power
  • Executive power
  • Legislative power
  • Judicial power
  • Examiner’s power
  • Monetary power

b. Vertical Division of Power

The vertical division of power is the division of power based on the level, namely the division of power between several levels of government. The distribution includes:

  • Central government
  • Provincial government
  • City/district government

B. Position and Functions of State Ministries of the Republic of Indonesia and Non-Ministerial Government Agencies

The Ministry of State was formed to assist the president in carrying out various government affairs. Each ministry is led by a minister who is responsible to the president.

1. Duties of the State Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia

  • Formulation and determination of policies in the field
  • Coordination and synchronization of policy implementation in their respective fields
  • Responsible for the field

2. Classification of the State Ministries of the Republic of Indonesia

  • The ministry that handles government affairs is nomenclature.
  • Ministry that handles government affairs whose scope is stated in the 1945 Constitution.
  • The ministry that handles government affairs in the context of sharpening, coordinating, and synchronizing government programs.
  • The coordinating ministry in charge of synchronizing and coordinating the affairs of the ministries within the scope of its duties.
